Mike Miller, the unofficial "Mayor of Deep Creek" was remembered during a special ceremony during the Great Bridge game. A Virginian oak tree was planted to the right of the scoreboard that included a memorial plaque.  At the end of the first quarter the family and friends gathered by the tree to remember Mike. The head coach of Great Bridge was on hand to give the Miller family a card signed by the entire Wildcat team.  Mr. Hardee then presented the family a game ball from the B. T. Washington game in which we won 42-0. Up next was Bennie Polk who presented the family with a picture of Mike that was taken at last years Kellam game.  Larry Baldwin did an outstanding job from the press box remembering Mike and asked the fans to remember him in a moment of silence.  Mike will be missed by the good people of Deep Creek but I am sure he will never be forgotten.
