CHESAPEAKE - A 22-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning when his car ran off Elbow Road, the second fatal crash on the road in about a week.Charles P. Ryals, of the 600 block of Creekwood Drive, was headed west when he got to a curve in the road, according to a police news release. The car went into the eastbound lane, into a ditch, then hit some trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined that Ryals was driving too fast for the conditions, according to the release. He was wearing a seat belt and investigators ruled out alcohol as a factor.

Since graduation I have accomplished a few of my dreams…my brother Lee (C/O 99) and I purchased a home in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake and ironically enough it is on the same street we grew up on…I am currently working for the Division of Child Support in Norfolk for the state and in the process of looking for another job…although I am not dating anyone at the time and have no kids I am enjoying life and partying hard…I would love to get in contact with some of my fellow classmates so please drop me an email…until next time everyone take care and hope to see you around Deep Creek!!! Thanks,
Brittney Hobbs

Hi everybody! Wow, a lot sure has changed over the last 3 years. Life throws a lot at you when you least expect it. It's a little late right now, but a relative told me about this site on instant message, so I'll make it quick. I still reside in Deep Creek, though I pay rent now! I was recently promoted to assistant superintendent at my jobsite out in Windsor. I have to go, but ill update soon. Later y'all, and I hope you all stay safe. Shout out to my old best friend Anthony Eichelberger, who I understand is a member of the coast guard now. Way to go man. And a special thanks to Mrs. Kelly, who gave me the extra boot over that grad line. Until next time, peace.

Chesley Lamont Brunson
CHESAPEAKE - Chesley Lamont Brunson, 22, of the 2800 block of Camelot Blvd., went home to be with the Lord, Friday, July 25, 2008. On Nov. 16, 1985, Chesley L. "L.C." Brunson was born to Chesley and Lori Brunson in Portsmouth. On July 25, 2008, he departed this life suddenly and embarked upon his journey to eternal salvation to meet with his Lord and Savior. L.C. was educated in Chesapeake Public Schools where he graduated from Deep Creek High School in 2003. Before his untimely demise, L.C. was employed at the Hampton Roads Regional Jail as a correctional officer. He loved his job and co-workers. This was one of the many highlights of his life. L.C. was member of Trinity Baptist Church in Chesapeake. With his competitive nature, he enjoyed playing basketball, football and Playstation. He was an avid bowler, where at the top of his game, he earned an 11-strike in a row patch. L.C. was a volunteer at Booker T. Washington Elementary School in Suffolk. He also had a passion for music, computers and motorcycles, which he was aggressively planning to purchase really soon. He was a fun-loving person; a real comedian. His smile lit up the room when he walked in. L.C. adored his sisters and served as the protector for them as well as his only niece. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents, Chesley and Lori Brunson; two beautiful sisters, Arlene "Michelle" and Brittany Brunson; a sweet, little niece, Iyana Gray. Missing him dearly will be his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Arlene Lacey; paternal grandmother, Mary L. Brunson; one great-aunt, one great-uncle, seven aunts and five uncles. L.C. will be sorely missed by his numerous friends, co-workers and neighbors as well as a host of other relatives and two very special friends, Tony Ayers and Romel Jackson. Viewing will be held Monday from 2 to 7 p.m. at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, located at 1080 N. George Washington Hwy, Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Baptist Church, 1023 Deep Creek Blvd., Chesapeake. Dr. O.L. Cromwell III will officiate. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family has entrusted J.T. Fisher Funeral Services to handle the final care arrangements. Condolences can be offered to the family at www.jtfisherfuneralservices.com.
