1989
*****REUNION NEWS***** I would like to put a message out there on the
alumni board for all 1989 grads to please send me there following info;
home email, home #, cell #, work email, address, etc. Our 20 year
reunion will be here before we know it and I would love to start finding
people that were not at our 10 year and get in touch with as many people
as possible. It is going to take at least a year to find and contact
people and I would love to get started on that myself since I have not
heard about anyone else from our class about doing this. I was also
wondering what the class of 1990 thought about having a 20 year reunion
with us since so many of us from 1988-1990 did hang out together? But I
had heard 1988 is joining in with 1986-87 so thought it would be cool to
have more together for this. So if you could please just put in a quick
note that anyone interested in a 1989-1990 joint reunion to please email
me so we can get things started.

I wish all of my former

Kevin Dawson
I am employed by Dominion Enterprises, as a
Data Entry Supervisor. I have been with them since 1997! I am
currently married to my best friend, Michael Burnell. We have two
children, Haley and Hayden. Haley is seven and very much my tom-boy!
She will have no pink please. Hayden is five and he is a rough and
mischievous little boy. I still live in Deep Creek and live in the same
neighborhood that I grew up in.
Joni Ferrari Burnell
I was somewhat quiet in
school, until you got to know me and realized that I have a sarcastic
quick-wit sense of humor and love to sing and I haven't changed much. I
am more assertive now though and speak my mind freely. My family is
everything to me. I lost my Mom unexpectedly in August 2006 and have
been dealing with that emotional roller coaster. We vacation every June
in Pennsylvania and every August at the OBX with the whole family--9
year long tradition. My kids are both on the Honor Roll, something I
barely accomplished! :) Skys is a 1st Degree black belt in TKD and
Scott is an avid skateboarder and resident dare-devil.

I live in Washington
state with my wonderful husband of 13 years, Mark. We have three beautiful
daughters - Nichole - 12, Catherine - 11, and Tina Marie 3. All the girls
keep us busy, but our youngest keeps us the busiest--she was born with a
rare metabolic disease which requires extensive treatment. We own an
electrical contracting business, which is also busy. We have done extensive
traveling and enjoy living in the mountains. It is a real treat to live in
a small town with our families so close.
Denice Fuchs Flerchinger
Currently living in Chesapeake, VA, married to second husband, have 3 grown
step-children, working as a paralegal to one of the largest real estate law
firms in the state of VA. I enjoy riding motorcycles, and spending time with
husband. wanting to find out any information on the next reunion
Mary-Elizabeth Nemecek Baker
Well, not much about me has changed. Still live in the 23323 zip, still a
computer geek, still like much of the same stuff as in school. My history, I'll
try to make it as short as possible... Graduated, became a truck driver, meet a
girl and got hitched, bought a house, bought a restaurant, got some tattoos,
drove the truck some more, gained some weight, became a grandpa (Yeah I know!
Freaky, isn't it!), got OUT of the restaurant biz (Never take in a partner!),
lost some weight, quit smoking, gained a little of the lost weight back (oops!),
and I'm still happily married (11 years now!) Still trying to loose the
previously mentioned pounds. I currently drive a truck for a postal
contractor (9 years now). We service Chesapeake and the Eastern Shore. I have
moved four times in my life. Three time it has been in the Deep Creek area
(I did spend a couple of years in P-Town!) But I'm still here. Great to see some
old familiar names.
James Owen
I left for Atlanta in 1996 to accept a teaching position in the Cobb County
School System. I started at South Cobb High School in Austell, GA as a
Technology Education Teacher, after five years I transferred to my present place
of employment at Sprayberry High School in Marietta, GA. I am currently
teaching Technology Education and Engineering an Drawing Design (Drafting).
Yes, I am following the ways of Mr. John Owens the drafting teacher at DCHS.
I have coached girls volleyball for over seven years and was a head coach at
Sprayberry for two. I have also been a boys soccer coach for six years.
In 1999, I married Bhea, then in 2003 our first child was born. Me and my
family reside in Kennesaw, GA.

What's up class of 89'? This is Richard (Dick) Downes just drop in
to see what every one was doing. I am fine, not married still looking I am
living in Nashville country music capital of the world and home of the Titans.
I wanted to know when next reunion is, or just to visit on my own. Well that is all
folks!!

Willetts Powell is living with her second husband in Augusta, GA. After
divorcing in 98 left VA and moved to Atlanta. Got married two years ago and
moved to Augusta. My husband and I own and operate a Sales/Marketing Corp..
Travel alot, play alot, refusing to grow up. She don't have any
children so she feels she don't have to grow up anytime soon. She is becoming a
bit nostalgic and just wanting to see what old classmates have been up to. She
is looking for anyone with information about a possible 15 year reunion. Anyone
with any info drop her a line.
Scott D. Opalewski is currently married with three beautiful children
(Two boys and one girl) and living in the Northbay area of California 45 minutes
from San Francisco. I spent 8 1/2 years active duty in the Air Force
between 1990 and 1998 stationed at Travis AFB, California. I have a
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Technology and a Master of Business
Administration (MBA) in Computer Information Systems along with my Microsoft
Certified System Engineer (MCSE) credentials. I am currently a Sr. Network
Administrator for Affiliated Computer Services, a Fortune 500 company. I
also own my own entertainment company Scotty D Entertainment.
Leslie A. Everett-O'Yenik has 2 children and
is currently
living in Maryland. She is married to a 1988 grad, Doug O'Yenik. She chaired 10yr reunion
committee, would like help and suggestions for 15/20 year reunion.
Leslie is an Independent Southern Living At HOME consultant.
