*****REUNION NEWS*****

Thanks to all that helped and attended our reunion. It was a great success. We missed all that could not attend.

I wanted to remind everyone of the get together we are having after the Deep Creek Homecoming game on October 13th. We will be meeting after the game at the Deep Creek Ruritan Log cabin. Classes of 80, 81, 82. We will have a DJ and are asking for $5.00 per person at the door to cover expenses. Please bring your favorite beverage and be prepared to enjoy the company of your old classmates.

*****CLASS NEWS*****

I married a retired Marine, and aspiring author Dale Simmons 2 1/2 years ago. Dales' first book is to be published in Sept.2007. I have two sons; Eric- 16, David- 13. We live in the desert city of Ridgecrest California. The desert is a lovely place! I was an LVN in the state of California for 10 years then left it to work with children. I have been working as a Recreation Assistant on China Lake Naval Base for the past 7 years, and will be reapplying for my California L.V.N. License soon, and go back to school to become a Registered Nurse. I would love to hear from my fellow alumni!

Well, I find myself back in the U. S. and single. The 2nd marriage didn't work. So, I;m in Arizona.. I'm still U. S. government service and accepted a position with the Western Civilian Personnel Center at Ft. Huachuca, AZ.This was my first Army duty station in 1981, so I'm familiar with the area. As a matter of fact, my son's and grandchildren live here, so it's a no lose situation for me.Be proud "Creekers" as our school has produced some outstanding folks. If in AZ, give me a mail and I could show you some things, hopefully. Enjoy peace in your life and be safe,

I have two children Susan and Christopher and three grandchildren - Erika, Shaun and Alexander. I own Party Cakes 'n Things in Virginia Beach, a cake decorating and candy making supply store. My husband of 24 years (this Feb) is Bill Chilton, a retired Coast Guardsman. Bill and I currently live in Elizabeth City, NC.

Tim Backus is married to Veronica L. Backus, from West Virginia whom he met while in College, for 19 years this past July 23. They have 3 children, Luke - 16, Jordan - 14, and Tyler - 12, and a 10 year old golden retriever. Tim retired as an engineer with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and is now a development consultant for non-profit organizations that cater to children and child abuse prevention. He has been a youth minister as well as an associate minister. They currently live in Huntington, West Virginia where they own 150 acres and are currently undergoing logging to make way for a log home.

Beverly Bettinger Spruill lives in Brentwood next door to Suzann Fountain Lavine. She has 2 children, David and Molly. Beverley is employed as a florist.

Syble Radford Shellito resides in Gates County, North Carolina, and is a Career Counselor at Chowan College in Murfreesboro, NC. She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Learning and Technology through the Western Governors University.
