*****CLASS NOTES*****

I just got my computer and learned of this site from another “creeker”, Brad Hartung.  Had to visit to see if anyone was still out there.  Living in Chesapeake in the neighborhood I grew up in. Divorced and re-married, no children. Work for the City of Chesapeake in the Police Department.  Enjoy scrap booking with another “creeker”, Suzann Lavine.  It’s been almost thirty years and I was thrilled to see names that I still remembered.  I used to be known as Daffy Duck and enjoyed the CB radio.  I played softball, wrote poetry and loved Friday night football, especially during homecoming when we made a gazillion tissue flowers for the floats.  I wrote our class poem.  These days I work, enjoy crafting and try to take care of my husband Gary.  My husband went to school at Wilson .  My oldest sister Vicky Wright (class of 71)lives in Suffolk with her husband Steve and their four children and sister Kathy Hill (class of 76) lives in Portsmouth with her husband Harold and their two children the youngest of whom just graduated.  My brother Jimmy Harrison (class of 83) lives in North Carolina with his wife and has no children. My father is deceased and mother is still living.

Well, I am back in Chesapeake for a few months. I am now retired from the personal mgt. game after being diagnosed 4 years ago with Early Onset Parkinson's.  Luckily this new challenge has not diminished the quality of my life in any major way-only made me more aware and thankful for all I have been able to experience in my 43 short years. I would love to get together with any old friends who are still in the area.

La-Tiese Bryant
CHESAPEAKE - La-Tiese "Tee" Bryant, 47, of the 2900 block of Parkside Drive, died Sept. 13, 2007, in Chesapeake General Hospital. Born in Norfolk, she was a member of Philadelphia Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Jerone Caldwell and Jo’el Bryant; mother, Elouise Meekins and stepfather, John C. Meekins, all of Chesapeake; father, Joseph Dew of Texas; sister, Jovett Dew of Texas; two brothers, Aubrey Meekins (Janet) of Chesapeake and John C. Meekins (Ernestine) of Newport News; maternal grandfather, Samuel Brown of Portsmouth; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Philadelphia Church of Christ, Chesapeake, by Bishop James T. Farrow. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park Mausoleum, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Wednesday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Yvonne Rhodes Masingo
Chesapeake-- Yvonne Rhodes Masingo, 47, ended her battle with cancer June 15, 2007, in Chesapeake General Hospital. Mrs. Masingo lived in Chesapeake for most of her
life and most recently moved to Richmond in 2004. She was a graduate of Deep Creek High School and was a medical editor with Spheris. She was preceded in death by her father, R.C. Rhodes. Yvonne is survived by her two daughters, Brandy Masingo of Midlothian, Va., and Laura Masingo of Richmond, Va.; her mother, Gay Rhodes of Chesapeake; five sisters, Jeanette Sims of Virginia Beach, Nancy Worley of Chesapeake, Gloria Clement of Chesapeake, Joan Sims of Virginia Beach and Lorretta Rhodes of Chesapeake; three brothers, Ronald Rhodes of El Paso, Texas, Donald Rhodes of Martinsville, Va., and Lloyd Rhodes of Fork Mountain, Va.; her loving former husband, Robert Masingo of Currituck, N.C.; a grandson, Landon Masingo of Richmond; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends. Yvonne was a loving mother, na-na, sister and daughter with unbelievable strength and courage who will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach. A funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel Tuesday at 11 a.m., with burial to follow in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery.
