*****REUNION NEWS*****
I would like to help get together a class reunion for 1966, 1967 and 1968 or whatever grouping we would decide to have.  I cannot believe that our 35th (being from the class of 1967 has passed and we did not have a reunion).  I do not know much about how to put a reunion together but with a little help and guidance - believe that it would be fairly simple.  I do know that at one time Cheryl Fletcher, Bill Stutts, Carol Ward and Mike Kirsch indicated an interest in having one - so if there are any out there willing to help....I will glady tackle the plans and initiation of one for the fall of 2004.....

*****CLASS NEWS*****

 After Deep Creek graduated from Elon College 1972 drafted and joined U.S. Coast Guard -- stayed for 25 years retired in 1997.  Married Linda Chalmers 1971 Manset, Maine.  We have 3 daughters Julie living in Lima, Ohio with husband Mark and 4 of our grandkids, Amanda who married Tim Snell and lives in my parents old house in Brentwood (expecting 1st child) and Kate recent Radford grad living with Mom and Dad.
Tom Briggs

I am married to the former Peggy LeDoyen, a graduate of the Deep Creek class of 1965.  We have been married for 36 years.  We have a daughter Rebecca DeVault Gosney who is married to Corey Gosney.  Becky is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a bachelors and masters degree and is currently teaching special education in the Portsmouth School system.  She has given us two great grandsons, Chase and Shane.  We have a son, Gerald Jr. who graduated from Virginia Tech and is working for Branch and Associates out of Roanoke.  He is currently one of three superintendents working on the new Alumni center at Tech.  He is not married. I retired in 2002 from the Virgnia Air National Guard as a Chief Master Sergeant.  I spent a total of 28 years in the Virginia Army and Air Force National Guard.  I retired in 2004 from the Government and am currently working for myself doing small jobs.  My wife and I are in the process of selling our house and are going to move to 2031 Norfolk Street in Kill Devil Hills, NC on or about August 1st of this year.  I am an avid NASCAR fan.
Gerald Lee DeVault

My dad was the late Tom Hathaway, Jr, who taught at Deep Creek from 1967 to 1983. My mom, Lib, still lives in Brentwood. I have two sisters, Michie ('70), who is married to Pat Schrock also of '68, and Margaret (Meg '72). After graduation, I attended VMI, graduating with the class of 1972. I spent the next 5 years on Active Duty with the Army in Germany. In 1977, I left Active Duty, joined the Army Reserve, took a job as an engineer with Ford, and moved to the Detroit area, where I still live today, working on Ford's Commercial Truck Programs. I retired from the Reserve in 2002 at the rank of Colonel.  
I've been married to Myrna (Collins) of Hampton since 1972, and have three children. Our son, T.C. Hathaway IV, is 28, an Ensign in the Navy Reserve, and in his first year of Med School at the University of Michigan. Our oldest daughter, Marge, 26 graduated from Western Michigan and is a social worker living in Kalamazoo and is planning on getting married sometime next year. And our youngest daughter, Laura, 15, is getting ready to start 10th grade. 
I still consider Chesapeake "home" in many ways, and we always spend a week each summer down at Sandbridge at the family cottage. One of these days we'll retire and will probably live somewhere in Tidewater, at least during the winter.
Thomas C. Hathaway III

Live in Beautiful Beaufort by the Sea. Have been here Since 73 courtesy of the USMC. Also lived for 4 years in Hawaii but right back here. They can send me right back to Hawaii anytime. Have raised 5 kids and now have 9 grandchildren. Keep in touch with Chesapeake every now and then. My folks moved to Ohio so I depend on other family and friends to update me on news.
