Chesapeake -
Norma Kay Berry, 68, became an angel
with the Lord April 16, 2007, after a long illness. Born Sept. 8, 1938 in
Norfolk, she was a graduate of Deep Creek High School. Norma worked
proudly as a chiropractic assistant for many years. Throughout her life she
looked after everyone else's needs and feelings first and then followed with the
finest dessert she could bake for all to enjoy and love. Floral arranging,
crafts and being a mother to all were her finest qualities; however, the kitchen
was always in her heart and where she felt at home. The aroma of happiness
and joy that she brought to family and friends will be greatly missed as
well as her willingness to work and her desire to help others. Norma was
predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years, Earl M. Berry. In 2001, Norma was
granted a second love of life along with a godsend, George Wallace. They
have happily been living and engaged for six years. Throughout their
engagement they traveled across the country and the Outer Banks of North
Carolina with smiles and laughter. Towards an unforeseeable end, George
persevered and stayed true to her love and compassion till the absolute end.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Bradford Earl Berry of Chesapeake and
Brian Keith Berry of Boston, Mass.; fiancé, George Wallace of Chesapeake; three
sisters, Shirley Kriscolinnus, Lillie Mae Williams and Mary "Sissy" Mustin; and
two brother Kenny Bagley and Freddie Bagley. A funeral will be held at 11
a.m. Friday at Rosewood -Kellam Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Tom
Mercer. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family
will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p. m. at the funeral home. In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oaklette United Methodist
Church Food Closet, 520 Oaklette Dr, Chesapeake, VA 23325
